Statement of Primary Purpose and Focus The Strategist & Coordinator, Student Achievement for CPA Atlantic School, located in Halifax, NS, reports to the Director, Program Delivery & Registrar. The Strategist & Coordinator, Student Achievement is primarily responsible for coordinating those critical analytical and reporting activities necessary to support student/candidate achievement in the world class CPA accounting education programs.

As a thinker and a doer, the Strategist & Coordinator, Student Achievement possesses strong analytical and reporting capabilities providing meaningful insights leading to the development and coordination of educational strategies with a particular emphasis on assessments.

Summary of Major Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the senior leadership team on the analysis, research and development of educational support strategies that will positively affect student/candidate achievement in various national CPA assessments including the CPA preparatory courses, CPA Professional Education Program and CPA Common Final Examination

  • Measures and provides deep insight into student/candidate assessment outcomes that are in alignment with the school’s key performance indicators in supporting student/candidate success leading to the development and execution of related strategies

  • Measures the success of supportive education strategies and how they affect student/candidate achievement in all assessments in the CPA education programs

  • Uses strong data management skills, collects, analyzes, and reports on all assessment outcomes on a timely basis to senior leaders, partners and other stakeholders

  • Builds close working relationships with all employees of CPA Atlantic School and with CPA provincial/regional partners

  • Acts as a spokesperson and ambassador for CPA Atlantic School whenever the opportunity presents itself, formally and informally presenting CPA Atlantic School’s mission, programs, and services in a strong, positive, and professional manner

  • As a member of the program delivery team, provides support to the Director, Program Delivery & Registrar with other required tasks, as assigned.

Key Competencies Required for Selection

  • A strategist with strong data analytical and presentation capabilities coupled with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in the area of student outcomes and achievement

  • A Bachelor of Education degree preferably with specialization in student assessments or comparable credential / equivalent years of experience

  • Relevant experience in the education sector would be an asset

  • Possesses an understanding of various forms of education delivery such as on-line distance learning, in-person and blended learning technologies coupled with excellent analytical capabilities in assessing education strategies

  • Knowledgeable in education-related applications such as learning management platforms and registration systems would be an asset

  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be an asset

  • Exceptional organizational capabilities, able to coordinate numerous requirements simultaneously

  • Excellent customer service orientation, supporting cultural diversity

  • Exceptional written/oral communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient in common business applications, database management and analytical tools such as Power BI

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment

  • A team player, hands-on, deadline driven and willing and able to “roll up the sleeves” to get things done.
